When you live in the desert, it’s so nice to drive into the blues and greens of the East and let a little humidity soak into your skin. The winding road, U.S. 72, took us through parts of Tennessee, Mississippi and into Alabama.
We crossed over the Natchez Trace Parkway (another winding road I would like to take someday) and decided to take a nature break. The Trace, an old forest trail, has been used by humans and animals for over 10,000 years. First, by the Native Americans, then by the early settlers and today it’s a 444-mile peaceful and scenic drive through history. We lucked out and quickly found a cool spring. I wonder who has used it before us. 🙂
Rollin’ on through Alabama…heading to Rocket City (Huntsville). See ya there!
